Join the Community in Shaping Tacoma's Future: Volunteer for Proposal 1 Ballot Measure
The City Clerk's Office invites residents to contribute their voices to Proposition 1 – the Connect Tacoma: Safe Streets and Sidewalks proposal, featured on the August 4, 2026, Primary Election ballot.
Volunteers are encouraged to prepare a personalized letter outlining their details:
- Full legal name;
- Current Tacoma residence (per RCW 29A.32.280, residency within city limits required);
- Position supporting or opposing the initiative;
- Personal motivation for serving on the committee.
Submit letters by April 20, 2026, noon to the City Clerk's Office via email at cityclerk@[SITEURL] or mail to 747 Market Street, Room 220, Tacoma, WA 98402.
The Government Performance and Finance Committee will review submissions during their April 21, 2026, session at Tacoma Municipal Building (747 Market St), with virtual attendance available through zoom.us/j/84416690206 (ID 844 1669 0206, passcode 614650).
Finalized statements will be included in the voter pamphlet, with rebuttals due by May 7, 2026, after initial materials reach voters on May 5, 2026.
