Be part of the City of Tacoma and Pierce Conservation District in safeguarding Trafton Slope, a hidden gem in South Tacoma featuring Pacific Northwest forests and Garry-oak prairies. Contribute through planting, weed removal, and mulching to enhance water purity, wildlife habitats, and community wellbeing.

All participants are invited—no prior skills needed! We supply guidance, protective gear, refreshments, and ensure a safe, educational experience.

Youth Participation: Minors require parental consent and must present a signed waiver. Children 15 and younger must be supervised by an adult.

Recommended items for your volunteer day:

  • Attire ready for dirt and moisture
  • Protective long-sleeved tops and trousers
  • Durable closed-toe footwear (no sandals allowed)
  • Weather-appropriate layers including rain protection
  • Reusable water container
