The Tacoma Police Department will hold a press conference to recognize two community members who intervened during a February 10, 2026, aggravated assault at Point Defiance Park. These individuals will be awarded the Medal of Courage for providing critical aid and for staying with the victim until first responders arrived on the scene. The victim, along with one of the awardees who assisted her, will make remarks during the press conference.
