Tacoma's Upcoming Historic Preservation Code Updates Explained

By Ava Hudson |

The Tacoma Historic Preservation Office is organizing community briefings regarding forthcoming revisions to the city's historic preservation regulations. These updates stem from recent policy shifts within the One Tacoma Comprehensive Plan, evolving state legislation, and direct input from residents and municipal personnel.

Residents can participate in a virtual briefing via Zoom on July 24th from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m., or attend an in-person meeting at the Mottet Branch Library, located at 3523 E. G St., on July 26th between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Public engagement remains central to this process, with formal comment periods scheduled during the Planning Commission hearing on August 6th and the City Council session on October 7th.
